e have been working very hard in the background trying to arrange a pre-season trip for members and supporters of PCC. We have loved our trips to Colwyn Bay over the last few years, but due to Easter weekend falling very early this year, it’s not something we have been able to arrange.
As such, we have made alternative arrangements to ensure we can still get together and enjoy a weekend away before the season starts
Therefore, we have arranged a friendly away at Penrith CC on Saturday 13th April
We will then travel to play Workington CC on Sunday 14th April in the ECB CUP
We would love to have as many of the PCC Army together as possible, we have missed you all
In 1949 the Arbories Sports Memorial Ground became the home of sport in Padiham. The facilities were donated in memory of those who lost their lives from Padiham in the Second World War.
In January 2024, we are delighted to have completed a project with the help of Landscape Engineering and the support of Lancashire Environmental Fund.
We will be holding an opening day in March and we would love to invite any relatives of the fallen to the event.
A list of names are below, these have been displayed at the ground for the last 74 years and will now be added to a memorial stone which will ensure they remain for generations to come.
If you have any family links to the below, please contact Callum Clarke who would be delighted to hear from you.

Notice to all members and the local community of Padiham.
The Arbories Sports Memorial Ground, the home of both Padiham Cricket Club and Padiham Football Club since 1949 has in 2024 entered its 75th year.
To mark this landmark, both clubs along with the trustees of Padiham Sports Club will be holding events throughout the year. Further announcements will be made over the coming months.
Padiham Cricket Club have been successful in a number of recent grant applications which is enabling the committee to continue to improve the facilities for all members and the community to enjoy.
One of the projects on the banking is almost complete, we look forwarding to showing you this soon.
The second major project is the outfield drainage. The current drainage system was installed in 1950 and requires upgrading.
This is where we need help from the community, it’s not a big ask but it is essential.
The entire grounds are now *closed* to the whilst this work is completed, this included any dog walkers who continue to ignore signage.
This is for your own safety as there will be are multiple holes, at least 2 feet deep over which will be dug all over the outfield in the coming days and will not be seen in the dark. Injury could be caused to you or your dog if you enter the grounds.
Orange fencing has been erected around the outfield to enforce the simple message to keep off.
The Arbories is a Sports Ground, used by children and adults.
The grounds are now completely fenced off, access is not permitted outside of opening times.
Your support is appreciated & we will update once works are completed.

Following the recent statement issued by the North West Cricket League, we are delighted and extremely proud to be named the first Champions of The Hamer Cup in the new NWCL era
We are bitterly disappointed in the circumstances of our crowning, but this does not take away the brilliance of a completely dominant performance against Settle last Sunday
Special mention to our Professional Jack Edgar for his superb innings of 90, which was fantastically supported by a classy 67 from our OA, Zander Van Tonder
A destructive batting display was expertly followed up with the excellent bowling of Ben Swindells who took 4-19 in his 8 overs!
We are extremely proud of all the team for their excellent performances this season. A top 5 finish which secures top division status for 2024, T20 Semi Finalists and now Hamer Cup Champions - an impressive first season in the inaugural NWCL.
A huge thanks to our supporters who have travelled in numbers to Farnworth on both occasions to offer their support, it means so much to us all

Today, Padiham Cricket Club hosted the T20 Finals Day on behalf of the North West Cricket League.
The day was a huge team effort which has involved weeks and weeks of work from all of our volunteers within the community of Padiham.
On & off the field the day was a huge success with Little Lever Cricket Club coming out as champions.
HOWEVER, at 6:30pm on a Sunday evening - Councilor Alan Hosker turned up on Arbory Drive to video & report how and where visitors to the ground had parked.
In advance of today the club asked all spectators park respectfully, however due to the recent parking restrictions placed on Arbories Drive (DOUBLE yellow lines on ALL roads) it is virtually impossible now for Padiham CC or Padiham FC to host any future events.
These events are vital to both clubs and we are tonight incredibly disappointed in the actions of our local councilor who is refusing to help with the situation, only add to it.
The Arbories has been the home of Padiham Cricket Club and Padiham Football Club for 75 years. Actions like today, from somebody who proclaims to be “Pro Padiham” does nothing but put a nail in the coffin of both clubs. Both clubs try there best to develop the facilities, provide for the community and engage with youth
to increase participation at all ages.
We will again try and discuss this further with Mr Hosker and Lancashire County Council to find a solution, however recent attempts have been unsuccessful.
Thank you to everyone who came to visit the club today. We hope you had a superb day!
Padiham Cricket Club is delighted to announce a new ground sponsorship with Danelec.
Our committee has made a pledge to interact with more of our local businesses in Padiham, as we look to build relationships with our community.
Danelec was founded by Director Dan Windle back in 2019, and has seen rapid growth, going from strength to strength in that time. Dan, a local Padiham lad is thrilled to be able to sponsor our ground.
He commented: ‘As a company founded in Padiham, we are always looking for ways to give back to our local community, and this presented a perfect opportunity. To be able to have our company affiliated with the local cricket club is something we take great pride in, and we are excited to develop our relationship with the club’
Huge thanks to Danelec for their support, and we look forward to welcoming you all to ‘The Danelec Arena’ starting tomorrow (22/04/2023) with our first home fixture of the season vs Atherton.

No experience is needed, we just want them to come down and have some fun.”
Andrew Turner, Managing Director at Pendle Hill Properties, commented: “Here at Pendle Hill Properties we are passionate about sport in our local communities and our cricket bat giveaway initiative is one which we are really proud of. Thank you to Lancashire County Council and local County Councillor Alan Hosker for his help and support in this application.
Alan can be seen below with PCC chairman Steve Meehan.
The Local Member Grants Scheme helps our county councillors to support the vital work of voluntary, community and faith sector (VCFS) groups.
The grants can be used to fund projects that will directly benefit the community, from gardening workshops and knit and natter sessions, to football activities to help young people stay active.
